Lord Ganesh is a god of wisdom, prosperity and good fortune. Every year NEMM celebrates Ganesh utsav with a great devotion and enthusiasm. This is the only NEMM event that not only NEMM community, but other Indian communities in or around New England also eager to celebrate with us. This year is no exception. NEMM is organizing Ganesh Utsav on September 20th and invite you all to join the celebration.
The highlights of the evening include :
- Registration opens at 2:30pm
- Ganapati Mirvanuk with Dhol, Tasha, Lezim
NEMM will celebrate Lord Ganesha’s presence on a rhythm of a traditional Dhol, Tasha, and dance along with lots of music and delicious food.
The miravnuk will start at 3pm. Looking for your participation so that we all can enjoy the dance together.
- Aarati - Call For Action:
This year we are going to perform 10 odd aaratis in a predefined sequence. The aarati sequence and text is now made available at the link below.
We are requesting the members to download the pdf on their smart phones so that they can participate better. Alternatively you can bring your own printouts since we are not planning to distribute any printouts.
- Kids - Atharva Shirsha and Prarthana
We will have a round of shloka chanting right after aarati.
- SaReGaMa competition
Several talented singers would be participating in the competition. Lets make sure that we cheer them.
- Dinner (Swami Narayan)
Enjoy dinner from Swami Narayan!! The RSVP deadline for food has been extended to September 18.
Following these celebrations, the major attraction of the evening is going to be a musical competition.
The competition will be held in three categories:
Child (age 6 – 12)
Youth (age 13 - 18)
Adult (age 19 and above)
NEMM is hunting for talented singers, who get a chance to be winner of a SaReGaMa singing competition preliminary round. Winners will advance to succeeding rounds and finally get a chance to perform at a final round at 2015 BMM convention. Interested participants can enroll their names via this form on BMM2015 website.
