Lord Ganesh a god of wisdom, prosperity and good fortune. Every year NEMM celebrates Ganesh utsav with a great devotion and enthusiasm. This is the only NEMM event that not only NEMM community, but other Indian communities in or around New England also eager to celebrate with us. This year is no exception. NEMM is organizing Ganesh Utsav on September 20th and invite you all to join the celebration.
NEMM is planning to celebrate this year Ganesh Utsav in a more cultural way rather than religious way. This year our event comes in the middle of Pitru Pandhravda. After consulting elders from our community and religious authorities from India, this year we will not perform Ganesh Puja, but will truly celebrate Lord Ganesha’s presence on a rhythm of a traditional Dhol, Tasha, and dance along with lots of music and delicious food.
Following these celebrations, the major attraction of the evening is going to be a musical competition.
The competition will be held in three categories: Child (age 6 – 12), Youth (age 13 - 18),Adult (age 19 and above).
NEMM is hunting for talented singers, who get a chance to be winner of a SaReGaMa singing competition preliminary round. Winners will advance to succeeding rounds and finally get a chance to perform at a final round at 2015 BMM convention. Interested participants can enroll their names via this form on BMM2015 website.
